Case On Karnataka Former CM Kumaraswamy For Electricity Theft

Former Chief Minister of Karnataka H D Kumaraswamy used power to light his residence during Diwali without permission. It became a piece of news that who worked as a CM had committed power theft in Karnataka. A case was registered against the former CM on the grounds of electricity theft. This issue has opened up a controversy between political parties.

Kumaraswamy lives in Bengaluru with his family. On Diwali, the house is decorated with colourful lights. But electricity was illegally taken from the electric pole for the electric lamps. Bengaluru electricity officials have found out that the former CM committed electricity theft by laying wires. Prashanth Kumar, the electricity officer, complained to the Jayanagara police about the incident. Police have registered a case against Kumaraswamy for electricity theft.

Kumaraswamy responded to this incident. ‘We entrusted the responsibility of decorating my house to a private person. Electricity was taken from outside only for testing and not for decoration. I was not at home at that time. When he got home, the electrician told him that he should use electricity from the meter at home. Kumaraswamy said, If it is considered illegal, I will pay the fine. ” He claimed that he had not done anything to sink the country and the state.
