Decorative mango arches were set up, and the whole area was adorned with red mud. Officials and ministers warmly welcomed Amma. As Sammakka arrived, the district SP fired three rounds to honour her. Special prayers and traditional songs welcomed the Koyas. Meanwhile, Saralamma was already honoured on the throne by tribal priests playing horn trumpets and drums. Pagiddaraju and Govindaraja also took their positions. With Samakka’s arrival, a crucial phase of the fair concluded. The number of devotees is expected to soar as Samakka takes her place. They perform sacred baths in Jampannavagu and visit Amma’s shrines.
Today, Governor Tamilisai and CM Revanth Reddy are scheduled to visit Medaram to pay their respects to Medaram Sammakka-Saraalamma. Governor Tamilisai’s visit to Ammavar is set for 10 am, while CM Revanth Reddy will arrive around noon. Additionally, Minister Seethakka mentioned that Union Minister Arjun Munda will also join in the visit to Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma. Since this marks Revanth Reddy’s first visit to Medaram as CM, the temple priests are preparing for a grand welcome. Heavy security measures have been put in place by the police for the occasion.
