Telangana Congress Second List Announced, Here Are The Key Names
In the wake of the Telangana elections, the Congress has released the second list of candidates. The administration announced 55 candidates in the first list and released the names of 45 more candidates in the second list. Altogether with these two lists, Congress announced 100 candidates so far. Apart from the 4 seats allotted to the left parties, candidates for 15 more seats have to be announced. As the competition for these positions is fierce, the administration is engaged in announcing the name of one chosen candidate and appeasing the others.
In the second list, the Congress leadership has allotted tickets to many leaders. The Cantonment seat has been allotted to Vennela, the daughter of popular singer Gaddar. Late MLA Sayanna’s daughter Lasya is contesting on behalf of BRS in this seat. It is reported that Congress gave this ticket to Gaddar’s daughter as part of the strategy to check Lasya. In Khammam district, where the Congress party is strong, the leaders have allocated the Paleru ticket to Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and the Khammam ticket to Tummala Nageswara Rao. Also, Ponguleti faction member Payam Venkateswara Rao got the ticket from Pinapaka.
Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, who rejoined Congress, secured the Munugodu ticket. Madhu Goud Yaskhi, another senior leader, was allotted the LB Nagar ticket just as he wanted. Congress gave the Husnabad ticket to former MP Ponnam Prabhakar. And former minister Konda Surekha got the Warangal East ticket. On the other hand, former cricketer Azharuddin got the Jubilee Hills seat. In Siddipet, Poojala Harikrishna has been fielded as a rival to Harish Rao.
On the other hand, the name of BRS MLA Rekha Shyam Naik, who joined Congress hoping for the Khanapur ticket, was not announced. Here the ticket for Vedma Bojju is finalized. Rathod Bapu Rao did not get a ticket from the Boath seat. Here Ashok Vannela has been allocated a ticket by the administration.
