Bhagavanth Kesari Opens To Positive Box-Office Response

The movie Bhagwant Kesari came under the combination of crazy director Anil Ravipudi and tollywood star Nandamuri Balakrishna. In this movie, Sreeleela acted in a key role and impressed. After completing his ‘first over’ with six movies, director Anil started a ‘new over’ with Bhagavanth Kesari to create box office collections. Produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi, this film was released on Thursday on the occasion of Dussehra. Currently, it is running successfully in theatres.

The movie Bhagavanth Kesari, much awaited by Nandamuri Balakrishna fans, was released amid many expectations. The makers posted on Twitter that Bhagavanth Kesari collected Rs. 32.33 crores worldwide on the first day and became the winner of Dussehra. But if we look at the first-day collections of Balayya Babu’s previous film Veera Simha Reddy we have to say Bhagavanth Kesari did less. Veera Simha Reddy topped Balakrishna’s career with Rs.54.30 crores.

However, we must admit this film’s business is befitting of Balakrishna range. In the two Telugu states Rs. 57 crore pre-release business is reported. Among them, from Nizam area Rs. 14.50 crores, seeded Rs. 13 crores, Uttarandhra Rs. 8 crores, in East Godavari Rs. 5 crores, in West Godavari Rs. 4 crores, from Guntur Rs. 6 crores, in Krishna Rs. 4 crores, from Nellore to Rs. 2.6 crores have been collected. Also, in other states including Karnataka, Rs. 4.25 crores and overseas Rs. 6 crore business has been done. As a result, Bhagavanth Kesari’s worldwide pre-release business, according to trade sources, stood at 67.35 crores.

Similar to Bhagavanth Kesari movie’s pre-release business, the break-even target of Rs.68.50 crores was also considered low. But, after the first day collections, it looks like it may take another 2 days to break even. Bhagavanth Kesari was released in around 1350 theaters worldwide. The makers had opened the bookings three days earlier. But, compared to Veera Simha Reddy, Bhagavanth Kesari’s bookings started slow. The total bookings were made in the range of Rs. 7 crore gross collections in Telugu states.

However, as there is tough competition between Bhagavanth Kesari, Leo, and Tiger Nageswara Rao, it remains to be seen how the collections will take shape in the coming days. The revenue is likely to increase further as the film is receiving positive talk ahead of the festive holidays.
