‘Om Bheem Bush’ generates excitement with its blend of comedy, horror, and thrills. Directed by Sree Harsha, known for ‘Husharu’ and ‘Rowdy Boys’, the film reunites Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Sree Vishnu, and Rahul Ramakrishna after ‘Brochevarevarura’. Anticipation is high for this promising horror-comedy released on 22nd March.

Let’s delve into the narrative arc of “Om Bheem Bush” and assess how well it fulfils its objectives.

Story:

‘Om Bheem Bush’ starts with an exciting scene where Aghoris perform a mysterious ritual at Sampangi Mahal, which is believed to be haunted. Aiming to unearth hidden treasures. As the Aghoris face setbacks in their quest, the audience is left wondering what dark forces may be at play within the walls of Sampangi Mahal.

Transition to Legacy University, where our trio—Krishna (Sree Vishnu), Vinay (Priyadarshi), and Maddy (Rahul Ramakrishna)—take centre stage. The trio leads a carefree existence at University, pursuing PhDs with outlandish research topics while inadvertently disrupting the life and reputation of Professor Ranjith (Sreekanth Iyengar). The first half is replete with their misadventures, interspersed with lively song-and-dance sequences by Kamakshi Bhaskarla and Priya Vadlamani, promising a laughter-filled cinematic experience.

The story then shifts to Bhiravapuram village where the trio rebrands themselves as the Bang Bros in Bhiravapuram village, offering A to Z solutions on all matters including occult and witchcraft. The village already has a looming presence of a feared spirit called Sampangi in a decrepit palace, and the plot deepens with the revelation of the palace’s history, hinting at the existence of a substantial treasure.

This delivers a hilarious comedy as the Bang Bros establish themselves in Bhiravapuram village, drawing on Hollywood and meme references for their humour. With punchy one-liners, Rahul’s unique English and Vishnu’s quirky rap bits, the film keeps the laughs rolling throughout. The Bang Bro’s are challenged to confront the spirit of Sampangi and uncover the hidden treasure within the palace.

Will the Bang Bros uncover the treasure, aided by Sampangi, and unravel the mystery behind its existence? Does Krish’s past have a connection to the Sampangi Mahal? To know the answers to these questions, you would have to watch the movie.

Screenplay and Analysis:

In the first half of the movie, the comedy hits the mark, drawing the audience in with hilarious performances by the trio. However, some viewers might find certain songs unnecessary.

In the second half, the focus shifts entirely to Sampangi Mahal, providing a perfect backdrop for the brilliant blend of horror and comedy. Sree Vishnu’s performance sees a jarring shift from delivering comedy to attempting emotional depth, leaving the audience feeling disconnected and unsure of the character’s authenticity. The film wraps up by delving into the ghost’s backstory and revealing how it resolves the central conflict, providing closure to the narrative.

Technical Departments:

The cinematography of the movie is commendable, capturing visually appealing scenes throughout. However, the VFX falls short of expectations and could have been improved. The songs fail to leave a lasting impression, while the background music, although decent, doesn’t stand out. Similarly, the editing is average, contributing to the overall pacing of the film.

Actors:

Sree Vishnu, Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna, known as Bang Bros in this movie, have delivered a hilarious ride. Although the storyline is thin, the performance of these three has given no room for boredom to the audience. All other cast members have also done decently.

Plus Points:

  • The comedy timing of the trio is hilarious
  • BGM is quite good
  • Horror elements are impressive
  • Non-stop fun keeps the audience engaged
  • The intended message is good

Minus Points:

  • Climax is clumsy
  • VFX is disappointing
  • Unimpressive songs
  • The sudden shift in emotional arc of Sree Vishnu is odd

Bottom Line:

Logic Nill.. Comedy Full
