Chandrababu’s Plot to Bring About a Financial Crisis in AP: Targets Welfare Schemes!

Is TDP chief Chandrababu unable to tolerate the well-being of the people of the state? Does he believe that people will not vote for him in this election? Has he decided to counter them aggressively? Is he plotting to disrupt the ongoing welfare schemes in the state and plunge Andhra Pradesh into a major crisis? Political observers are answering these questions with a loud ‘Yes!’. It seems that all these assertions hold true. Chandrababu’s recent actions serve as evidence. Until recently, there were efforts to obstruct pensioners from receiving their entitled pensions. They didn’t back down from intimidating even the elderly, women, and the disabled by engineering circumstances where each of them had to face severe hardships under the scorching sun for pensions. Even before these incidents faded from memory, Babu and his associates orchestrated another grand scheme against students, farmers, and women.

EC Halts ‘Vidya Deevena’, ‘YSR Cheyutha’, and ‘Rythu Input Subsidy’

Chandrababu Naidu, in his relentless pursuit to undermine the achievements of the YSRCP, is now unabashedly showcasing his anger toward students, farmers, women and vulnerable sections. With the recent complaint lodged by Chandrababu and his cohorts with the Election Commission (EC), the release of funds for schemes like ‘Vidya Deevena’, ‘YSR Cheyutha’, and ‘Rythu Input Subsidy’, which are all regular, running schemes in the state, has been halted. While the YSRCP argues that these are ongoing schemes that do not violate the Election Code, the EC refuses to disburse the funds. Now, a petition has been filed by beneficiaries of these schemes in court. They have expressed that any delay in fund disbursement would lead to severe financial hardships. There is great anticipation everywhere for the court’s verdict on this matter.

EC’s Vindictive Attitude Towards the Government

Furthermore, an amount of Rs 847 crore, earmarked for input subsidy for farmers who suffered crop losses during the Kharif season of 2023, is slated to be deposited into the accounts of 6,95,897 farmers. The government, recognizing the urgency due to the Kharif season, had planned to release these funds before the enforcement of the election code, citing their importance in providing timely financial assistance to farmers. However, due to technical reasons, there was a slight delay. Subsequently, the election code came into effect. Now, even though YSRCP leaders argue that the Election Code doesn’t apply to existing schemes, allegedly the EC is displaying bias against them. Through schemes like Vidya Deevena, the government is depositing fee reimbursement money for various courses into the accounts of students’ mothers. Parents eagerly await these funds. The EC’s recent decision has left them deeply dissatisfied. Similarly, beneficiaries of the ‘Jagananna Cheyutha’ scheme are also discontent with the EC’s stance.
