Yatra 2 teaser: Emotional narrative with powerful performances

It is known that the 2019 movie ‘Yatra’ was based on the former CM of Andhra Pradesh Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s ‘Praja Prasthana Padayatra’, undertaken right before the 2004 AP elections. Consequently, this film was released in February, before the 2019 AP elections, and became a big hit at the box office. Malayalam superstar Mammootty aptly breathed life into the on-screen incarnation of the late CM YSR and garnered praise from one and all.

The release of political films before elections has always been a tradition in AP politics, even if we examine history. This norm seems to have continued even for the coming AP elections. Currently, Yatra 2 is coming as the sequel to 2019’s Yatra. Directed by Mahi V Raghav, this film is being jointly produced by Three Autumn Leaves, V Celluloid and Siva Meka. ‘Yatra-2’ is being made based on the ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’ undertaken by YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s son and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy before the 2019 elections. It is reported that the political events that happened in Andhra Pradesh from 2009 to 2019 will be showcased in this film. The teaser for this movie has just dropped on YouTube minutes ago and here we are, bringing you the details and our first impressions of it.

His portrayal of the current AP CM YS Jagan seems phenomenal already. In this film, Ketaki Narayan is playing the role of YS Bharti. Mahesh Manjrekar playing Chandrababu and German actress Suzanne Bernert playing Sonia Gandhi who feature prominently in the teaser seem to have given powerful performances in their roles.

Young sensation Santhosh Narayanan is composing the music for this film and the teaser’s music just gives pure goosebumps in the backdrop of CM Jagan’s struggles following Dr YSR’s death. He elevated the whole narrative to the next level with his emotional yet powerful background music. The film Yatra-2 is set to be released worldwide on February 8.
