AP BJP leaders’ letter to High Command: ‘Cheater Chandrababu gave us unwinnable seats’

AP BJP leaders wrote a scathing letter to the BJP top brass today, complaining that Chandrababu had given them only unwinnable seats, as part of the TDP-Janansena-BJP alliance in the upcoming Andhra Pradesh elections, thus cheating the BJP. The sensational letter was signed by prominent BJP leaders like Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Venkata Satya Narayana, S. Dayakar etc.

In a letter addressed to BJP National President JP Nadda, leaders of the Andhra Pradesh (AP) BJP expressed their apprehensions regarding the alliance with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Janasena for the upcoming 2024 elections. Despite their loyalty to the central party’s decision, they raised crucial points that they believe are detrimental to the interests of the BJP in AP.

The letter, signed by several party workers, begins with a respectful acknowledgement of the central party’s decision but swiftly moves on to highlight several grievances:

  1. Candidate Trustworthiness: The leaders express concern over the selection of candidates who they deem untrustworthy to the organization, indicating potential credibility issues within the alliance.
  2. Seat Allocation: They argue that the number of parliament (6) and assembly (10) seats allotted to the BJP by TDP lacks winning potential, suggesting that the allocation undermines the BJP’s electoral prospects.
  3. Repeated Backstabbing: The leaders perceive the seat allocation as a repetition of past instances of betrayal, describing it as a scenario of “backstabbing” by the TDP.
  4. Weak Assembly Seats: They criticize the allocation of assembly seats that were historically unsuccessful for the TDP, implying that the BJP has been handed weaker constituencies.
  5. Disregarded Recommendations: Despite submitting a list of winning candidates with strong ideological backgrounds, the AP BJP’s suggestions were allegedly disregarded in the candidate selection process.
  6. Suspected TDP Influence: Concerns are raised about the alleged influence of the TDP on the selection of candidates purportedly representing the BJP’s interests, suggesting a potential conflict of interest.
  7. Hidden Agendas: The leaders suspect that TDP may have ulterior motives, including damaging the BJP’s cadre, by shifting their leaders to the BJP under the guise of an alliance.

The letter concludes with a plea to reconsider the alliance decision in the interest of the party’s image and electoral prospects. The leaders emphasize the need to allocate seats to longstanding party members with a strong ideological foundation to bolster the organization’s future.

The leaders’ plea for reconsideration underscores their commitment to the party’s welfare and electoral success in Andhra Pradesh.
