AP Government Begins BC Caste Census From Tomorrow

AP CM Jagan’s sensational decision, the BC caste enumeration program will be held in the state starting tomorrow. First, it will be carried out experimentally in 5 regions of the state. The process will be conducted in 3 village secretariats and two ward secretariats. District Collectors will monitor this process.

Training will be conducted for the officers till the 22nd of this month. District-level round table meetings will be held starting tomorrow. Regional conferences will be held in five cities. Beginning from the 17th of this month in Rajahmundry, Kurnool, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam on the 20th of this month and Tirupati on the 24th,

AP government has been studying for eight months to understand the process of caste census. Jagan government has formed a committee with chief secretaries of SC, ST, BC, minority planning and secretariat departments. A committee of six officers has recently toured the states in the country where the caste census has been taken up and analysed legal difficulties.

However, this committee has reported to the government and suggested ways to conduct a Caste census. According to this, the government will survey about 60 lakh families in the state. The village staff, ward secretariats, and volunteers will go door to door and collect the data. The government has also created a particular app for this purpose. All this information will be uploaded digitally in the app.
