AP Politics Heats Up: Mudragada’s YSRCP Entry, A Strategic Move?

The political heat in Andhra Pradesh is intensifying. All political parties in the state are focusing on the selection of their candidates and on winning. In this context, the politics of Godavari is becoming interesting. There have been reports suggesting that Kapu movement leader Mudragada Padmanabham, who has been favourable to Janasena for some time, might be changing his course. There are rumours that he is considering entering the fray from Pithapuram.

Changing Political Equations

The political equations in the East Godavari district are changing. A few days ago, the Kapu movement leader Mudragada faction, which showed interest in Janasena, was given a new twist. With Mudragada not receiving an invitation from Janasena Party leader Pawan Kalyan, they expressed dissatisfaction with the party. Consequently, the Mudragada faction decided not to join Janasena. At this juncture, it is known that discussions with the YSRCP are ongoing with the Mudragada faction. If Mudragada joins YSRCP, it is rumoured to have a significant impact on the Kapu community within the cadre.

Ready to Contest from Any Seat

If Pawan Kalyan contests from Pithapuram, it is known that YSRCP is considering inviting Mudragada to contest from there against him. Mudragada would be a strong contender against Pawan, but YSRCP has not yet made a decision on this. If Mudragada joins YSRCP, Vanga Geetha has signalled readiness to step aside from the Pithapuram race. However, Vanga Geetha states that no discussion on changing the candidacy has taken place, and she is ready to contest wherever she is given a seat. But if Mudragada enters YSRCP, it is widely discussed that it would definitely change the political dynamics in the Godavari region.
