AP Ranks Second in Renewable Power Procurement Target

The Union Power Ministry aimed for 21.18 percent renewable power procurement by 2021-22. AP recently exceeded this target. NREDCAP Vice Chairman, MD Ramana Reddy, mentioned that Karnataka leads with 41.3 percent, while AP follows closely behind in second place with 28.5 percent.

MD Ramana Reddy stated that the renewable energy export policy implemented by the state government in 2020 has become a model for the country. He mentioned that the state leads the nation with 37 percent in pumped storage projects. Currently, there are 8 projects with a capacity of 4,745.60 MW operational in the country, while 4 projects with a capacity of 3,260 MW are under construction.
