AP Volunteer risks life to save victims from a house on fire!

An incident that took place in Pedapatnam village in Machilipatnam district is now becoming a sensation. The villagers are praising the bravery shown by a volunteer who put her life on the line to save people from a fire incident in the village.

A fire broke out in the house of Tokala Devamani in Pedapatnam village panchayat due to an electrical short-circuit. At the time of the accident, there were two children and an old woman in the house. At the same time, Chebattula Priyadarshini, a village volunteer who came to give a pension of 3000 rupees as part of the YSR pension, noticed the fire. Soon, with the help of Tokala Kiran and Bunga Ramesh, she risked her life and entered the burning house. With the help of the surrounding villagers, the children were successfully rescued without any loss of life. The secretariat staff and villagers cooperated and controlled the fire without spreading the fire to the neighbouring houses. Sarpanch Anusha Raj, National Disaster Team informed the revenue officer about the accident.

After learning about the accident, Krishna District Cooperative Director Gadidesi Bala Jesu provided immediate financial assistance with Rs 5000. Besides, former minister Perni Nani assured that the victims will get compensation from the government and that the necessary assistance will be provided soon. As the fire broke out due to the electrical short-circuit, the TV, bed, clothes, ceiling fan, table fan, mixers, and DWCRA money were burnt in the house along with the wiring. The revenue officer has recorded the details of property damage at around two lakhs.
