‘Bifurcation gave AP Losses of 13 Thousand Crores a year’: CM Jagan

The AP Assembly budget sessions are ongoing and CM Jagan gave a speech on this occasion. He said, “We have faced many challenges in the last five years. Especially due to Corona, the income has decreased drastically and the expenses have increased tremendously. Due to this, the debts have also increased. We have faced many challenges in those two financial years. The state has lost Rs 66 thousand crores in revenue in the three years that followed.”

Decreased Share From Central Government

CM Jagan said that the share given by the central government to the states has decreased due to the unprecedented situation seen in five years. “Compared to the period of Chandrababu’s rule, in these five years, our state and all states have decreased. The share of taxes from the centre to the state was Rs 32,780 thousand crore in 2018-19, Rs 28,000 crore in 2019-20, Rs 24,000 crore in 2020-21, Rs 36 thousand crore in 2021-22 and 38,000 crores in 2022-23,” explained YS Jagan.

Affected by the loss of Hyderabad from the State

CM Jagan said that the income of AP is less compared to Telangana and if every state does not have an economic powerhouse, the income of the state will never increase. He said that every year Rs 13 thousand crores are being lost due to the loss of Hyderabad, which was built as a joint property. He said that the revenue deficit is still haunting and every state should have cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. “That is why I am repeatedly mentioning Visakha. If there was a debt of Rs. 53 thousand crores at the time of bifurcation, it reached Rs. 4.12 lakh crores by the time Chandrababu stepped down. As of May 2019, our journey has started with a debt of Rs 4.12 lakh crores,” explained the CM. YS Jagan revealed that while now the debt stands at Rs 2,91,000 crores some people are publicizing it as Rs 13 lakh crores.

There is no corruption anywhere!

CM Jagan said that during the 57-month journey, there was no corruption anywhere and every rupee was reaching the people without any discrimination. He said that so far Rs. 2 lakh 55 thousand crores have been deposited in the accounts of the beneficiaries directly by pressing the button. He also revealed that Rs. 76 thousand crores have been provided through non-DBT programs. Jagan said that he asked the public to see for themselves if even a single rupee had reached their bank accounts during Babu’s tenure.
