CM Jagan to Inaugurate 125-feet Dr BR Ambedkar Statue in Vijayawada

CM Jagan’s governance follows in the footsteps of Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. Aiming at comprehensive development and welfare, with a focus on social justice, the construction of a 125-foot-tall statue of Ambedkar at Swarajya Maidan in Vijayawada, along with a memorial, is nearing completion. The unveiling date for the Ambedkar statue has been set for January 19, as announced by Chief Advisor to the Government Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.

The foundation stone for the statue was laid on December 22, 2021, with a 100-foot pedestal supporting a 125-foot idol. Positioned strategically, the statue will be visible from any angle in Vijayawada, symbolizing constitutional supremacy and democratic values. This initiative, costing Rs. 400 crores, encompasses 18.18 acres and includes a digital museum, mini theatre, park, and other facilities. CM Jagan’s commitment to Ambedkar’s principles makes this unveiling a historic gift, as noted by Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Chief Advisor to the Government.

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Chief Advisor to Govt, said, “The unveiling of the 125-foot Ambedkar statue in the heart of Vijayawada city is a gift that will go down in history. CM Jagan was the only leader who believed in Dr BR Ambedkar’s principles.”
