CM Jagan’s Leadership is Setting a Benchmark for Women’s Empowerment

The term ‘Women Empowerment’ is not just limited to textbooks, as demonstrated by AP CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy through his actions. Since taking office, he has been prioritizing women in every sphere and aspect, from politics, and education, to economic empowerment, and working towards societal empowerment through women’s empowerment. For 58 months, Jagan has been sincerely implementing a plan designed for this purpose. In short, if asked whether there is anyone in the country who works day and night for women’s empowerment, it would undoubtedly be Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has implemented numerous schemes for women’s welfare, including YSR Cheyutha, Amma Vodi, and Aasara, which support women’s economic development. Educational initiatives like Vidya Kanuka, Vidya Deevena, and Vasathi Deevena have paved the way for women’s empowerment. Additionally, in a historic move, the government has legislated a 50% reservation for women in nominated positions, effectively allocating 51% of these roles to women.

For the first time in the country’s history, Mekathoti Sucharita, an SC woman, was appointed as the Home Minister. Additionally, a Muslim woman was chosen as the Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council, marking a first in the Council’s history. Four women have been allotted positions in the cabinet, overseeing critical departments like Home, Health, and Women & Child Welfare. Positions such as ZP Chairperson, Market Committee, directors of various departments, and Mayor roles in municipal corporations have been predominantly assigned to women. Even in the recruitment of volunteers, 53% of the positions were given to women, illuminating the lives of unemployed women. This epitomizes the true essence of women’s empowerment.
