Criminal Case Against Janasena Leader for Remarks on Volunteers

The state government has filed a criminal case against Janasena leader Pawan Kalyan. The government has filed a case in the Guntur court against Janasena leader Pawan Kalyan for making inappropriate remarks about volunteers. On July 9 of the previous year, allegations were made against Pawan Kalyan for derogatory comments directed at volunteers, leading to a lawsuit filed against him for allegedly damaging the reputation of the government. The district court has filed a criminal case against Pawan Kalyan under multiple sections and has subsequently transferred the case to the Fourth Additional District Court for further proceedings. The judge has issued notices for Pawan Kalyan to appear for the hearing on March 25.

Pawan Kalyan, during his speech in Eluru on July 9 last year as part of the Varahi Yatra, claimed that according to central intelligence agencies, thousands of girls have gone missing in the state. He mentioned that police reported 14,000 of those girls have returned. He also made inappropriate comments about volunteers. Based on the testimony given by Pawan Kumar, a volunteer from Kanteru in Tadikonda Mandal, and others, the public prosecutor stated in his complaint that a case has been registered. The court has ordered Pawan Kalyan to appear for the hearing on March 25.
