Destiny: YSR lays foundation, YS Jagan inaugurates Veligonda

20 years ago, YS Rajasekhara Reddy laid the foundation stone of the Pula Subbaiah Veligonda project to solve the problems of cultivation and drinking water of the people of Prakasam, Nellore and Kadapa districts. Recently, the same project was started by CM Jagan, son of YSR. He said that completing the two 18 km long tunnels and dedicating them to the nation is a script written by God and no other evidence is needed for this.

Veligonda Project: Decades-old dream fulfilled

CM Jagan said that the dream of decades has been fulfilled with the Veligonda project and he felt happy when he travelled through the tunnel. He said that he was happy to have completed the wonderful project. CM Jagan explained that the first tunnel was completed on January 13, 2021, as part of the Veligonda project, and the second tunnel was completed a few days ago and dedicated to the nation.

Irrigation for 4 lakh 47 thousand acres

He said that the problem of drinking water of 15.25 lakh people in 20 mandals in Prakasam, 5 mandals in Nellore and two mandals in Kadapa will be solved with the Veligonda project. Similarly, the CM said that 4 lakh 47 thousand acres will be irrigated in the plain areas of Prakasam, Nellore and YSR districts. However, regarding the land acquisition required for this project, Jagan has assured that it will be completed by the time of water filling in July and August, and the payment of land acquisition, rehabilitation and compensation will be completed with Rs. 1200 crore.
