ECI’s Great News to Janasena After Monumental Performance in AP Elections!

The Janasena Party, which won big in the Andhra Pradesh elections maintaining a 100% strike rate in all MLA and MP seats they contested, received some great news today. The Election Commission is set to allocate the ‘Glass Tumbler’ symbol as the party’s permanent symbol. Orders to this effect will come out soon. To get a permanent symbol, political parties need to get at least 6% of the votes in Assembly and Parliament elections or win two MLA seats and one MP seat. The election results released yesterday showed that Janasena won 21 Assembly seats and 2 Lok Sabha seats, every seat they contested in.

Janasena MLA and MP candidates won all the seats they contested in the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections. As part of an alliance with TDP and BJP, Janasena contested 21 Assembly and 2 Lok Sabha seats and won all of them. Pawan Kalyan, who contested from Pithapuram, won with a majority of 70,729 votes against Kakinada sitting MP Vanga Geetha from YSRCP. He was elected as an MLA for the first time, ten years after the party’s formation. He had contested from Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram seats in the last election and was defeated. Meanwhile, Balashowry Vallabbhaneni won from the Machilipatnam Lok Sabha segment with a majority of 2.20 lakhs and Uday Sriram won from the Kakinada constituency with a majority of 2.29 lakhs. With 21 seats, Janasena is likely to get two or three cabinet posts, a whip, corporation posts, and MLCs in the government.
