Health Minister Rajini’s Office Targeted in Political Turmoil

The onset of the New Year in Andhra Pradesh was marred by clashes and assaults as leaders and activists from Telugu Desam and Janasena parties targeted the office of Vidadala Rajini, the state’s Health Minister. The recently completed office in Vidyanagar, Guntur West Constituency, faced an attack where stones were thrown, glasses were shattered, and flex banners were set ablaze, leading to heightened tension in Guntur.

On Monday morning, Janasena and TDP supporters gathered at the office premises, expressing their discontent. The protestors engaged in stone-throwing and vandalized the building. In response to the incident, Rajni promptly visited the damaged office.

The attack has been vehemently condemned, with Rajini addressing the media, stating, “An attack cannot intimidate a woman from the BC community. This was a deliberate assault involving stone-throwing. No one has been spared in this attack, and it appears to be driven by the fear of electoral defeat. Consider the repercussions if such individuals come to power.” Concurrently, the police have detained several individuals for questioning in connection with the attack, although the motive behind the incident remains unclear.
