Michaung Effect: YS Jagan Announces Rs.10,000 To Cyclone Victims

With the effect of the Michaung typhoon formed in the Bay of Bengal, Andhra Pradesh is receiving heavy rains. In this background, 8 districts of the state are having a severe impact. CM YS Jagan ordered to help the huts and houses damaged by the storm. He ordered to take the initiative to help the victims within 48 hours after the storm receded. But now due to the storm, the waves are rising heavily and the sea waves are hitting the embankment in Koduru Basavanna Palem. Meanwhile, it is reported that the border areas like Nagayalanka, Koduru and Avanigadda are in the danger zone.

The Farmers Should Not Incurr Losses

Jagan advised the authorities not to cause any damage to the farmers. He ordered to take measures to keep the crop in unharvested places and if it has already been harvested, to buy the grain on war footing. Meanwhile, the officials explained to the CM that they have secured 6.5 lakh tonnes of grain till now. The CM ordered to provide Rs.10 thousand to those who get damaged by the rains. He said that the special officials would start monitoring the districts in the evening so that all the victims get help at a satisfactory level. If the money is still needed, all arrangements have been made to send it immediately. He told them that he would be a phone call away and that they could ask for anything they needed immediately.

Don’t Come Out!

The impact of the storm is intensifying. Therefore, the authorities are issuing warnings to people to be careful. People in the hinterlands are being told to be alert and not come out unless necessary. A special officer will visit the district. Jagan said that after the impact of the storm subsides, he will visit the flood-affected areas at the field level. It is suggested that all the government machinery should be alert. He said that the funds have already been released to the District Collectors and instructions have been given to give Rs.2 crore to each district for emergency expenses. The officials were advised to utilize the services of SDRF and NDRF. It was ordered to provide facilities to the victims in the camps and to give Rs.1000 to each person who came to the camps or Rs.500 to Rs.2,500 to the family unlike earlier. Similarly, directions were given to provide 25 kg of rice, dal, palm oil, onions and potatoes to the victims.
