Pawan Kalyan to Contest from Pithapuram for Upcoming Elections

Pawan Kalyan, the leader of the Janasena party, is still unclear about the constituency from which he will be contesting. Despite having contested from Bhimavaram in the past, it seems Pawan Kalyan is reluctant to compete from there this time. Surveys suggest that the YSRCP candidate Granthi Srinivas has a higher chance of winning in Bhimavaram, putting Janasena in a dilemma. Pawan Kalyan, who has always relied on Kapu votes, was defeated by Srinivas in the last elections in Bhimavaram. Granthi Srinivas is not just any leader; he is also a significant figure in the Kapu community. He has a strong hold on the Kapu community. Additionally, it is believed that if he contests Bhimavaram, Kshatriyas and other social groups might vote against him, leading to Pawan’s apprehension. This is why he is reportedly considering shifting his base to Pithapuram.

Chandrababu Naidu too is unable to decide on the constituency from which Pawan Kalyan should contest. Having examined several constituencies already, it is understood that he has finalized Pithapuram, Gajuwaka, and Tirupati constituencies, with Pithapuram being given priority. It is rumoured that Pawan is leaning towards Pithapuram due to the high Kapu population in the area. Banking on the Kapu vote, Pawan has decided to contest from Pithapuram, as per Janasena circles. It remains to be seen how effective Pawan’s ‘Kapu’ strategy will be in these elections.
