‘Uplift Anganwadis, Raise Their Wages’: TDP’s Atchannaidu

TDP state president Kinjarapu Atchannaidu expressed his grief that the condition of Anganwadis in the state has become pathetic. He complained that the Jagan government is acting in a biased manner against Anganwadis by not increasing salaries and cutting down welfare. He criticized YS Jagan for ignoring his promise to Anganwadis that if given a chance, he would give more salaries than Telangana.

Atchannaidu criticized the government as to why the salaries of Anganwadis have not been increased even after five years of promising that they will be paid at par with neighbouring states. “How can Anganwadis survive with a meagre salary?” He asked. He reminded them that, earlier, the salary of Anganwadis was Rs.4,200, but during the TDP regime, CM Chandrababu had increased the amount to Rs.10,500.

He criticized that CM Jagan is troubling Anganwadis by making them do forced labour. He accused Jagan of running an anarchic regime by charging people with lathis and threatening those who question with memos. Atchannaidu prophesied that the day when Anganwadis will give a permanent memo to Jagan is near.
