‘What has Ashok Gajapati Raju done for us?’ Vizianagaram public’s questions

The people of North Andhra are angry with the senior politician and former Union Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju for not leading the area on any development path while doing politics in Vizianagaram for the last 40 years. For many years the people of Vizianagaram have been questioning what he has done for Kala Medical College. They are saying that within five years of coming to power, CM Jagan has completed construction with Rs 500 crores and is also conducting classes. He was asked to tell what his efforts were in establishing a tribal university in Vizianagaram, where there are a lot of tribal people.

‘What did you do as a minister?‘

They clarified that during Jagan’s regime, he laid the foundation stone and started the construction of 561 acres in Marrivala with Rs 834 crores. People have criticized that at the same time CM Jagan, by removing all the obstacles cleared the R&R and ensured that the construction works are done at a fast pace. Ashoka Gajapati Raju’s political journey:

He first won from Vizianagaram as a Janata Party candidate in 1978. He joined the Telugu Desam Party in 1982 when it was founded and won the state assembly elections in 1983, 1985, 1989, 1994, 1999 and 2009. He won the 16th Lok Sabha from Vizianagaram in the 2014 Indian General Election. He served Andhra Pradesh as Cabinet Minister for Excise, Commercial Taxes, Finance, Revenue and Legislative Affairs in the state government. Served as Union Minister for Civil Aviation in the National Democratic Alliance Cabinet.
