‘Where There Is A Will..’ CM Jagan Deposits Cash In Fishermen’s Accounts

CM Jagan said that where there is a will, there is a way, and where there is a desire to do good, there is God’s help. Proving this statement, Chief Minister YS Jagan today released funds virtually at the camp office in Tadepalli to fishermen families who suffered losses due to the construction of the ONGC pipeline. With this, 23,458 families in Dr. BR Ambedkar’s Konaseema and Kakinada districts have benefited Rs.161.86 crores. After that, he virtually participated in the program from the camp office and spoke. He said that on the occasion of World Fishery Day, this program was initially planned to be held in Sullurpeta, but due to rains, the trip had to be postponed.

The intention is to not stop the financial aid..

“This program has been initiated through this video conference for all the fishermen who are suffering due to the ONGC pipeline, with the intention of not stopping the financial assistance that the government wants to give and do. We wanted to start the program to open the mouth of Pulikat Lake at Rayadaruvu in Vakadu mandal of Tirupati district,” explained CM Jagan. He said that this program would be taken up by the end of this month or next month.

Paying Rs.11,500 per month

CM Jagan stated that he has spoken to ONGC and signed an agreement with them to pay Rs.11,500 per month to the families of the fishermen who lost everything due to the construction of the ONGC pipeline. To this extent, already in three instalments, Rs.323 crores as compensation have been disbursed. He mentioned that the current program of today has been launched to deposit Rs.161 crore compensation cash for the 6 months from January to June this year as the 4th instalment. With this, a total of Rs.485 crores has been given as compensation to 23,458 families.
