YS Sharmila joins Congress in New Delhi: YSRTP merged

The merger of the YSR Telangana party with the Congress party is complete. YSRTP is no more as the Congress scarf was received by YS Sharmila in Delhi. Sharmila joined Congress at a program held in Delhi on Thursday. She was welcomed into the Congress in the presence of party national president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior party leader Rahul Gandhi.

On 8 July 2021, Sharmila founded the ‘YSR Telangana Party’ at Khammam. For two years she fought widely on public issues. She travelled all over Telangana. She fought heroically against the then BRS party government. She fought alone. It is noteworthy that her party did not contest a single direct election. When there was a campaign that she would contest with the Congress in the assembly elections, she unexpectedly withdrew from the contest and supported the Congress. Being an entrepreneur, Sharmila fought hard on behalf of the unemployed.
