YS Sharmila to join Congress tomorrow in Delhi: What about YSRTP?

It seems that YS Sharmila, who entered Telangana politics as a daughter-in-law of Telangana, will finally join the Congress party. Sources in the Congress say that the talks on joining the Congress have been going on for four months and reached their final stage on Wednesday. It is clear that Sharmila is going to merge the established YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) into the Congress. It is reported that Sharmila received a call from Delhi to this effect. It is known that Sharmila is going to officially join Congress in the presence of party leaders Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi. Around 40 leaders along with Sharmila are likely to join the Congress party.

On 8 July 2021, Sharmila founded the ‘YSR Telangana Party’ at Khammam. For two years she fought widely on public issues. She travelled all over Telangana. Sharmila fought heroically against the government of the day but did not get the expected response. Despite hard work, there was no positive effect on the people. Her lone struggle was in vain. Sharmila came up with an alternative idea in this order. She became ready to tie up with the Congress before the assembly elections. At first, there was a campaign that she would contest with the Congress. After that Sharmila withdrew from the contest on the suggestion of Congress leaders and supported the Congress in the elections.

Now that the party has come to power, Sharmila’s inclusion is certain. If not Telangana but keeping AP in mind, Congress is inviting Sharmila. It is reported that a Khammam minister acted as the mediator for this. After joining the party, it is being spread that Sharmila will play a key role in AP politics. A clarification is likely to come tomorrow.
