YSRCP: No Increase in Electricity Charges This Year APERC

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is governing with the welfare of all sections of society as his goal. He has introduced numerous schemes to help the economically weaker sections of society stand on their feet, thus bringing light into their lives. Against the backdrop of rising daily needs and prices causing severe difficulties for the people nationwide, the YSRCP government has made another crucial decision to bring relief to the people.

The state government has good news for electricity consumers. Typically, in any state, electricity charges increase every March. However, this year, Andhra Pradesh will not impose any additional burden and has structured the tariff accordingly, as informed by APERC Chairman Justice CV Nagarjuna Reddy. In this regard, the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) released the electricity tariff for the fiscal year 2024-25 at the Andhra Pradesh Comprehensive Water Resources Management and Farmer Training Center in Vijayawada.

People Rejoice Over Government Decision

The official announced that public opinion was collected in accordance with the law, accepting objections and suggestions. He mentioned that there is a difference between fuel prices and actual costs and that actions are being taken to purchase electricity considering the needs. It was disclosed that the charges in force for the current fiscal year will continue to apply in the next fiscal year as well. In this context, the government’s decision has been warmly welcomed by the public.
