IT Department Freezes Congress Party’s Bank Accounts

As the Lok Sabha elections are near, the Congress party received an unexpected shock. The Income Tax officials have frozen the bank accounts belonging to the Congress party and the Youth Congress party. The IT department has disclosed that a recovery of Rs. 210 crores needs to be made from these two divisions. National leader of the party, Ajay Maken, disclosed to the media that the bank accounts have been frozen. He expressed outrage, accusing the Modi government of conspiratorially freezing opposition parties’ bank accounts ahead of the elections.

Responding to the issue, Congress Party’s National President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the Modi government of paralyzing the accounts of India’s largest opposition party, the Indian National Congress, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. He strongly criticized this as a major attack on Indian democracy, accusing the BJP of using unconstitutionally collected funds for elections. In contrast, he stated that the funds raised by their party through crowdfunding would be used for the welfare of the people.

He appealed to the judiciary to save the multiparty system and protect the future of elections in the country, stating that if Modi continues, there might not be elections in the future. Kharge declared that they would fight against Modi’s autocratic rule to protect Indian democracy nationwide.
