Jallikattu Draws Enthusiasts Despite Risks; Two Lost Their Lives in the Event

Jallikattu competitions, a traditional sport held during the Sankranti festival in Tamil Nadu, have commenced, drawing a significant turnout of enthusiastic participants. Unfortunately, the events were marred by chaos, leading to a tragic incident in Sivaganga district where two individuals, including a minor, lost their lives in an accident. The fatalities occurred as they were caught between the bulls during the competitions.

Despite the inherent risks and past injuries associated with Jallikattu, the fervor for this ancient Tamil Nadu tradition remains unabated. Minister Udayanidhi Stalin, the son of Chief Minister MK Stalin, inaugurated the Jallikattu competitions in Alanganallur amidst this ongoing enthusiasm.
