Mamata: TMC Minister Jyotipriya Mallick Arrested In ‘Ration Scam’

West Bengal Minister Jyotipriya Mallick has been detained by the Enforcement Directorate in the ‘ration scam’ case. Currently, he is the state forest minister. There were allegations of a ration distribution scam during Jyotipriya Mallick’s previous tenure as the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies.

Mallick was interrogated by the ED as they intensified their investigation into the money laundering case related to this scam. ED revealed that he was arrested at his residence after being interrogated for about 20 hours. CRPF Jawans were deployed during Mallick’s arrest. The minister remarked at the time of his arrest that he was a victim of a conspiracy.

On the other hand, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reacted to the minister’s arrest. She said that if the minister’s health deteriorates during the ED inquiry, the authorities should be held responsible. She warned that if anything happens to the minister due to these attacks, cases will be filed against the BJP and the investigating agencies.
