Meet Baryl Vanneihsangi, The Youngest MLA Of Mizoram!

The ‘Zoram People’s Movement’ party won the assembly elections of the northeastern state of Mizoram. ZPM won 27 seats out of a total of 40 seats. While the ruling ‘Mizo National Front’ party got 10 seats, the BJP got 2 and the Congress got one seat. However, a TV anchor Baryl Vanneihsangi contested as a candidate of ZPM in this election and won against Mizo National Front candidate Lalnunmawia with a majority of 9,370 votes and achieved a record. Meanwhile, she is 32 years old and has become the youngest female MLA.

Anchor To MLA..

Born in 1991 in Mizoram, Beryl did her Masters of Arts from North Eastern Hill University in Shillong, Meghalaya. Later, she started her career as an anchor on a popular TV channel. She has gained a lot of popularity on the social media platform Instagram. Gradually, she got interested in politics and entered politics with a vision to serve the people. Soon after entering politics, she made her mark and became closer to the people. Baryl, who previously worked as a corporator in Aizawl Municipal Corporation, won as an MLA in the latest elections.
