Nitish Kumar Resigns as Bihar CM, Forms New Government with BJP

Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar made a surprising announcement as he resigned from his position as the Chief Minister on Sunday. He officially handed over his resignation letter to the state governor, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. The speculations that had been circulating for the past four days finally came to an end. This significant development marks a turning point in Bihar’s political landscape, as Nitish Kumar, who previously formed a government with RJD, is now severing ties with that alliance and bidding farewell to the India Alliance of Opposition.

Forges New Government with BJP

The next move involves Nitish Kumar forming a new government with the BJP, pending the Governor’s approval. Scheduled for 5 pm, Nitish Kumar is set to take the oath as Chief Minister once again. Reports also indicate that he has already received a letter of support from the BJP. Despite holding the position of Chief Minister eight times previously, Nitish Kumar has never formed a government independently.
