Pakistan Elections: Polling Underway Amid Internet Shutdown Across the Country

Elections are going on in Pakistan. Voting started at 8 AM today. Over 130 Million Citizens Cast Their Votes Across the Nation. Tight security has been arranged during the polling. Over 650,000 security personnel were deployed for rigorous monitoring of polling activities. Over 20 people were killed in bomb attacks at two locations in Pakistan a day before the polling.

To prevent election violence and influence on voters, Pakistan suspends Internet services nationwide. Due to Internet suspension, details on the polling process in Pakistan remain unavailable to other regions.

Internet access has been limited to emergency services and security forces during Pakistan polling. Mobile services stopped in some places because of violence during the Pakistan elections. Only security and polling officials are releasing visuals and photos of the Pakistan elections. Some networks have been completely shut down, while others have been partially suspended, as announced by the authorities there.

Polling began at 8 AM, with hundreds of people queueing up at polling stations in the capital city of Lahore. Media sources revealed that voting is going on enthusiastically across the country. Former President Imran Khan exercised his right to vote from Adiala Jail. Imran Khan was sentenced to 14 Years in Jail by the Supreme Court in a Corruption Case. Imran Khan and his wife Bushra were imprisoned together.
