PM Modi Inaugurates World’s Largest Corporate Office, ‘Surat Diamond Bourse’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the world’s largest corporate office building. The ‘Surat Diamond Bourse’ building constructed in Surat, Gujarat, was inaugurated along with CM Bhupendra Patil. This building will create a new diamond world in Surat. Arrangements have been made in it to conduct all kinds of business, from rough diamonds to diamond jewellery. This building was constructed to shift the entire diamond business from Mumbai to Surat.


The Pentagon in America is known as the largest office space in the world till now. Recently, Surat Diamond Exchange got this honour. This building was built on about 700 acres. A total of nine towers, each with fifteen floors, were made to connect one another. A total of 4,200 offices and 67 thousand employees can work in it. It is going to be the world’s largest and most modern centre for international diamond trade.


The construction of the Surat Diamond Bourse started in February 2015 and will be completed by 2022. It was built at a cost of around 3,500 crores. Surat Diamond Bourse was constructed to have a capacity of 67,000 people, including traders and visitors. High-security arrangements have been made, including checkpoints, a public announcement system, and car scanners at the entry gate. It has 4,500 diamond trading offices. The building can accommodate more than 4200 traders who come from 175 countries to buy diamonds—direct employment of more than 1.5 lakh people through this office.
