Rahul Gandhi Supports Vinesh Phogat’s Decision to Return Awards, Shares Video

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has expressed support for wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s decision to return her Arjuna and Khel Ratna awards. In a shared video, Gandhi conveyed the message, “To every daughter of the nation, first self-respect, then any other medal or honour.” Despite facing obstruction from Delhi Police when attempting to go to the Prime Minister’s office, Phogat proceeded to leave her awards on the road.

In the video, she holds the awards in her hands on the street, emphasizing that cruelty in the Prime Minister’s custodianship is disheartening. Phogat has declared her decision to relinquish the awards as a protest against the perceived injustice faced by top wrestlers in the country, particularly in light of recent developments in the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
