‘Rs 5 Breakfast’ and ‘Rs 10 Lunch’ at Bangalore Airport: K’taka Govt

Nowadays, a common man has to spend Rs 70 to Rs 300 to eat out. You have to pay at least 50 rupees to have a meal even at the vendors on the road. In many places, it costs at least Rs 70 for a meal. These days all prices have gone up with the increased prices of essential goods. Coming to the point, the Karnataka Government has taken a key decision in this regard.

The government has decided to open an Indira Canteen at Bangalore’s Kempegowda International Airport, a destination for the common man, the middle class, businessmen as well as the affluent. The Congress government is making arrangements to provide breakfast at only Rs. 5 and lunch for only Rs 10. The Indira Canteen will be opened at Bangalore Airport soon. In the latest Cabinet meeting, it was decided to open 2 Indira canteens in the parking area of the airport.

There are already over 175 Indira Canteens in Bengaluru alone. Indira Canteens in all cities and towns across the state offer breakfast at Rs 5 and lunch for Rs 10 only. During the BJP government, citing the reason that Indira Canteens were not getting quality food, they tried to close them down.

But now with the Congress government coming to power again, CM Siddaramaiah has changed the lunch and snacks menu in Indira canteens. A variety of meals are being served including Ragi Mudda and Mangalore Rotis. The state government hopes to start meals in Indira Canteen even in expensive food outlets.

Breakfast Menu (Rs 5):

Sambaru Idli, Chutney Idli, Veg Palau with Curd Bajji, Kharabat Chutney, Chow Chow Bath with Chutney, Mangalore Buns, Normal Buns, Jam Bread, Chutney Pongal, Bisi Bele Bath with Boondi and Seasonal Mango Chitranna.

Lunch Menu (Rs 10):

Vegetable Sambar, Rice with Kheer (or) Tarkari Sambar, Rice with Raita (or) Tomato Sambar, Rice with Curd (or) Vegetable Rasam, Ragi Mudda with Kheer (or) Sagu and Chapati with Kheer.

Dinner Menu (Rs 10):

Rice with Vegetable Sambar (or) Tarkari Sambar, Rice with Raita, Ragimudde with Green Chilli Soup and Chapati with Veg Gravy.
