Putin Affirms Strong Ties During Meeting with EAM Jaishankar

Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar held a meeting with the Russian leader at the Kremlin, during which Russian President Vladimir Putin extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a visit to Russia next year. Putin expressed his desire to welcome Prime Minister Modi, emphasizing the strong friendship between the two countries. Jaishankar, on a five-day official visit to Russia, had earlier met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Putin highlighted the increasing trade turnover between Russia and India, with a particular focus on the growth of crude oil and high-technology sectors.

Jaishankar expressed confidence that Prime Minister Modi and President Putin would meet at the annual summit next year, citing their frequent contact. The discussions between India and Russia covered various issues, including the situation in Ukraine. Putin assured India of cooperation and peaceful resolution of the issues.
