India honoured former Prime Ministers Chaudhary Charan Singh, and PV Narasimha Rao, along with Dr. MS Swaminathan with the Bharat Ratna award. Prime Minister Modi tweeted that it is a privilege for our government to honour former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh with the Bharat Ratna award. Modi highlighted Chaudhary Charan Singh’s dedication to farmers and his commitment to democracy during the Emergency period as an inspiration to the entire nation.
