Veena Vijayan, CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter gets a shock from ED

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter, Veena Vijayan, received a shock from the Enforcement Directorate. The ED officials filed a case for money laundering against the IT companies she managed. They alleged that this case stemmed from accusations that a company had made illegal payments to her company. A business deal occurred between Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL), a private company based in Kochi, and Exalogic Solutions, a firm owned by Vani Vijayan. The ED alleges that CMRL made payments of Rs 1.72 crore to Exalogic Solutions between 2017-2018 despite no services being provided.

The CPI ranks in Kerala strongly express dissatisfaction with the actions of the ED officials. The BJP government at the centre is accused of engaging in biased actions against opposition parties. Recently, it was revealed that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and BRS MLC Kalwakuntla Kavitha have been arrested by the ED officials in connection with the liquor scam case.
