Auto’s Allowed on Yadagirigutta after Two-Year Struggle

Auto traffic has resumed in Yadagirigutta starting today. On Sunday morning, Government Whip and Alair MLA Beerla Ilaiah started the yatra by waving the flag. As part of the Yadagirigutta capital inauguration, the BRS government had prohibited autos from climbing the hill on March 28, 2022. In response, auto drivers staged a relay fast. Ilaiah extended his support for about 20 months at the Yadarushi idol near the ghat road.

Following the Assembly Election Code, police instructions led to the halt of the initiations in November 2023. Following the Congress’s victory in the assembly elections, Alair MLA Beerla Ilaiah conducted multiple reviews with auto drivers, temple staff, and police personnel. After discussing possibilities with authorities, the government decided to permit autos on the hill from today. This marks the end of a two-year wait for auto drivers, who expressed gratitude to the government and MLA Ilaiah.
