BRS MLC Kavitha’s Bail Hearing in Delhi Liquor Scam

A crucial development is expected today in the Delhi liquor scam case. BRS MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla, who has been arrested in this case, is facing judicial remand in Tihar jail and has filed an interim bail petition, which is to be examined today. The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi (a special CBI court) is set to hear the case. In her petition, Kavitha mentioned that her young son is writing exams, and on this basis, she has requested interim bail.

There is widespread interest in how the Rouse Avenue Court will respond to this petition. On one hand, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials are opposing granting bail to Kavitha, arguing that she was a key orchestrator in the liquor scam case and is accused of being involved in irregularities amounting to nearly Rs. 100 crores. On the other hand, it’s being reported that the ED has also arrested Delhi CM Kejriwal in connection with the case, indicating that the investigation is uncovering significant details.
