‘Chain Snatching Couple’ caught: Police give insights into their motive

It is known that young women’s participation in chain snatching is a topic of discussion. The young woman who snatched the chain from the woman’s neck and escaped on a scooter was finally caught by the police. While people thought they were lovers until now, it turned out that they are husband and wife. Both of them were arrested and remanded by Nalgonda district police.

On the 12th of this month in Marrigudem mandal of Nalgonda district, a young man stole a chain from the neck of a woman named Sunita while riding a scooty. The couple escaped on a scooty when the villagers tried to catch them. Four special teams have been formed and the police have raided. A couple fleeing on a scooter was caught by the police at Santoshnagar in Hyderabad. When they were detained and interrogated, important things came to light.

On that day, the victim Sunita was taken on a scooty in the name of lift. After going a short distance, the couple immediately threatened Sunita, snatched the seven tola mangalsutra from her neck and ran away. The names of the arrested accused have been identified as Venkatesh and his wife. The police said that the couple fell prey to addictions and started thefts. Senior police officials have congratulated the personnel who caught the accused in chain snatching within two days.
