CM Revanth Eyes Belt Shops Closure: Peaceful Villages The Agenda

The Congress government that came to power in Telangana is fully focused on governance. The Chief Minister, who started reviewing all the departments successively, recently focused on the Excise department. On this occasion, it was decided to take down the belt shops that are still going on in the villages. As the liquor epidemic is destroying the villages, it seems that the government decided to abolish the belt shops. Officials are making plans for the closure of Belt Shops.

As promised..
As per the assurance given during the election, the state government has taken steps to remove belt shops in the state. There are 2,620 wine shops across the state. In addition to them, there are more than one lakh belt shops in the villages. There are 3 to 6 belt shops per village. These shops are selling liquor for 24 hours and alcohol is being sold in the villages. Even though women have been expressing their anger against these shops, they are continuing under the control of the then-BRS government’s people.

In spite of the Loss of Income
The current Congress government has tightened its grip to remove belt shops. Even if there is a possibility of losing income of around Rs.16 thousand crores due to the removal of belt shops, they are not backing down. The government has decided to close down belt shops with the intention of making the villages a haven of peaceful atmosphere. Soon official orders will be issued for their abolition.
