CM Revanth Reddy Advocates for Caste Census in Assembly for BC Welfare

CM Revanth Reddy said that a comprehensive family survey along with a caste census is being conducted to strengthen the weaker sections in Telangana state. He spoke in the Assembly during the discussion on the resolution for the BC caste census, questioning how many people belong to which social class. He explained that the survey is being conducted with complete details on the economic situation, educational opportunities, and employment opportunities among various social classes. Through this, he clarified that welfare schemes can be implemented more beneficially for the weaker sections.

CM Revanth Reddy criticized that the details of the comprehensive family survey conducted during the KCR government’s tenure have not been disclosed even after a decade, alleging that they have been kept hidden for ten years. He said that while they were surveying weaker sections why people who constitute only 0.5% of the population are getting jealous, indirectly pointing out KCR’s community. He criticized that While a resolution on the caste census was being passed, KCR did not even attend the assembly.

CM Revanth Reddy promised to submit the details of the comprehensive caste census survey to the assembly and assured that all details would be disclosed without any secrecy. He explained that the details from the survey will clarify which social classes need justice and who should be given political priority. Based on these details, the government will govern accordingly. He stated that the first comprehensive caste census was conducted in 1931, and then during the Congress party’s rule in 2011. He emphasized that in Telangana state, the caste census is being conducted only under the Congress government’s regime, standing as a supporter of the deprived and weaker sections.
