Congress Set for Telangana Cabinet Expansion Soon: Who Gets a Chance?
As Lok Sabha elections are approaching, the Telangana government appears to be focusing on expanding its cabinet. Before the election schedule is announced, it is understood that the party leadership has given the green light to include six more members in the state cabinet. Accordingly, carrying a list of six people, Revanth Reddy is expected to visit Delhi soon to meet with the high command.
It has been two months since the Congress government was established in Telangana. On December 7, 2023, along with Revanth Reddy, twelve ministers including Bhatti Vikramarka, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Seethakka, Ponnam Prabhakar, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Jupally Krishna Rao, Damodar Raja Narasimha, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, and Konda Surekha took their oaths, marking the formation of the new government in Telangana. Although there was an opportunity to include six more members in the cabinet, the high command did not proceed with it at that time. CM Revanth Reddy believes that the cabinet expansion should include people from all communities, as well as both seniors and juniors. As the Lok Sabha elections are approaching, it is understood that the high command is now focusing on cabinet expansion. There is information suggesting that the cabinet expansion is planned for the first week of March.

Who Gets the Opportunity This Time?
The current cabinet lacks representation from Hyderabad, united Nizamabad, and Adilabad districts. Therefore, individuals from these districts are likely to get an opportunity this time. From Nizamabad district, Madan Mohan Rao and Sudarshan Reddy are in the race, while from Adilabad, the name of Prem Sagar Rao is being heard. Along with them, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, Mahesh Kumar Goud, and Balmuri Venkat (from the MLC quota) are also aspiring for ministerial positions. It remains to be seen whom CM Revanth will give the opportunity.
