Delhi Liquor Scam: Supreme Court to Hear MLC Kavitha’s Petition Today

The investigation into the Delhi liquor case is raising suspense. The CBI has implicated Telangana MLC Kavitha as an accused in this case and issued notices for her to appear for inquiry on the 26th of this month. Despite the notices, Kavitha did not attend the inquiry. She has approached the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of the ED summons in the liquor case. She also requested the Supreme Court to order the ED not to take any coercive actions against her.

The CBI previously visited Kavitha’s residence in Hyderabad to take a statement regarding the same case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also questioned Kavitha multiple times. Since a petition is pending in the Supreme Court, Kavitha wrote a letter stating she could not attend the inquiry. There has been no response from the ED following that letter. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the petition on the 28th of this month, with Justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal presiding over the case. There is intense anticipation about whether Kavitha will appear for the CBI inquiry or not.
