Free Bus Travel For Women In Telangana: Fine If ID Card is Not Shown

The Congress government has already implemented two guarantees after forming the government in Telangana. Among them are free journeys for women in RTC buses, and Arogyasri of Rs. 10 lakh has been brought into effect. Recently, the authorities have issued important instructions to women who travel freely in RTC buses. The RTC officials have made it clear that women can travel free on RTC buses if they have an ID card like Voter ID or Aadhaar card; otherwise, they will have to pay the fare.

Through the ‘Mahalakshmi’ scheme, the government has provided the women of the state with the facility of free travel anywhere in Telangana in Pallevelugu, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express buses. Zero tickets will be issued only if an ID card is shown. Otherwise, they have to pay for the ticket. If they don’t take the ticket, a Rs. 500 fine was warned.
