Good news for the unemployed: Govt’s green signal for TET exam

The Telangana government has approved the conduct of TSTET in the state. It has decided to conduct TET before DSC. To this extent, it issued an order to the Education Department Commissioner. A TET notification was issued immediately. CBT will be held between May 20 and June 3. The government said the students can apply online from the 27th of this month to the 10th of April. It already released the DSC notification on the 29th of last month to fill 11,062 vacant teacher posts across the state. Acceptance of online applications has also started from the 4th of this month. To write DSC one must first pass TET. Unemployed people who have completed D.Ed and B.Ed have expressed their concern that they will lose their eligibility to apply for DSC-2024 due to not conducting the latest TET.

Responding to the concerns of the unemployed, the government issued orders to conduct another TET as soon as possible before the DSC. With this decision, the number of people writing DSC will increase massively. It is known that the government has taken this decision to provide the opportunity to as many people as possible to write DSC. There has been a huge demand for this as 20% weightage is given in the teachers’ recruitment test to the marks obtained in TET. Along with announcing the dates of DSC exams, the government has also extended the application deadline. To this extent, the Commissioner of Education announced that the examinations will be conducted from July 17 to 31. It was also announced that the deadline for the application has been extended from April 4 to June 20. It revealed that the extension is due to the recently issued notification for TET.

Among the total jobs, there are 2,629 school assistant posts, 727 language scholars posts, 182 PETs and 6,508 SGTs. Additionally, there are 220 School Assistants and 796 SGT posts related to Special Education. The highest number of vacancies in the state is 878 in Hyderabad, followed by 605 in Nalgonda district, 601 in Nizamabad, 757 in Khammam, 551 in Sangareddy and 506 in Kamareddy.
