Etela Rajender, who became a key leader in the party soon after joining the BJP, held the responsibilities as the Chairman of the BJP Telangana Recruitment Committee.

In the recent Telangana Assembly elections, Etela Rajender contested from two seats. He contested in his own constituency Huzurabad as well as in Gajwel. Unexpectedly, he lost both segments. His defeat at the hands of BRS leader Padi Kaushik Reddy in Huzurabad, which was Etela’s stronghold, surprised his fans. But if he wants to contest in the Lok Sabha elections he is likely to face fierce competition in the BJP. Moreover, it is reported that he intends to contest from the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat. Here there are chances of re-allotment of ticket to sitting MP Bandi Sanjay. In this background, there is a discussion in the political circles that Etela has decided to change the party.

Etela Rajender holds sway over Karimnagar
Congress is aiming to win more than 10 out of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Efforts are being made to field strong candidates. In this context, it is reported that the leaders of the Congress party have contacted Etela. Ponnam Prabhakar, who previously contested as an MP in Karimnagar, contested and won from the Husnabad seat in the recently held assembly elections. He was also given a minister post. With this, it is reported that the Congress intends to contest Etela from the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat. Etela Rajender also has a good grip on Karimnagar district.
