Is Sonia Gandhi contesting from Chevella? PAC takes call

The Congress party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) has decided that party president Sonia Gandhi must contest for a parliamentary seat from Telangana in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Telangana PAC resolved to this extent in a meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan. CM Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and Convener Shabbir Ali participated in the meeting chaired by PAC Chairman Manikrao Thakare. The party is mainly preparing for the upcoming Parliament elections. That is why it seems that each minister has been assigned the in-charge responsibilities for each segment of the parliament.

Will Sonia be in the ring from Malkajgiri?

Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi once contested the Lok Sabha election from Telangana. This time her daughter-in-law Sonia Gandhi is set to enter from here once again. But we need to know from where she will compete. Will she contest from Malkajgiri? Is she considering contesting from Medak, where her mother-in-law had won, or from Chevella? Political analysts believe that Sonia Gandhi may not contest from Malkajgiri as PM Modi is rumoured to be contesting from here.

Will Sonia contest from Medak or Karimnagar?

Earlier Indira Gandhi had contested from Medak and won. At that time, Congress won 41 out of 42 seats in the joint Andhra Pradesh state. It seems that the party is coming up with the same strategy even now. It is reported that the Congress leaders have taken this resolution keeping in mind the Medak segment’s history. It is known that Indira Gandhi got a massive adulation from the people here.

On the other hand, the formation of Telangana was first announced by Sonia Gandhi in Karimnagar. Currently, BJP and BRS are competing here. In this background, to stop these two parties, it can be expected that Sonia will be brought into the ring from here. It is being said that there is a chance of her winning here because of her name as the leader who gave Telangana.

Chevella’s sentiment for the Congress party

Chevella is another segment under consideration for Sonia Gandhi to contest. Even though Congress did not win in Greater Hyderabad, the vote percentage increased. On the other hand, historically, Chevella’s sentiment has been in favour of the Congress party. If Sonia Gandhi contests from here again, the sentiment will be repeated. Moreover, CM Revanth Reddy has been appointed as the in-charge of the Chevella constituency. That means he is responsible for making the party win. In this background, there is a talk that Sonia Gandhi has the intention of standing from Chevella, which is why the in-chargeship of this constituency has been handed over to CM Revanth Reddy.
